In the test – HAIX Protector Prime and Airpower XR200
This past spring, HAIX North America conducted a weartest with tree care professionals throughout the United States and Canada. With a huge pool of applicants to pick from, 100 participants were chosen to wear test either the Protector Prime or Airpower XR200. Weartesters were to wear the boots on the job, putting the boots through their paces, and then provide their feedback. The survey included questions which focused on items such as comfort, quality, waterproofness, and slip resistance.
For both boots, weartesters were overwhelmingly in agreement about the quality of the materials and construction, as 100% of respondents rated the boots as excellent. One weartester remarked, “Nothing but top quality materials used in the manufacturing of this boot”. An important consideration when tree care professionals, in particular, subject their boots to some pretty tough outdoor environments and potentially rugged terrains. Each boot received high marks for their water resistant properties as well. Another tester commented, “Most waterproof boot I’ve ever worn in 30+ years in the industry.” The last thing anyone needs when out on the job is to deal with wet and uncomfortable feet, especially when it can lead to blisters and a host of other issues down the line. Both tested boots feature a GORETEX waterproof inner liner to keep water out.
Weartesters also praised the ankle support of the boots. As one tester commented about his boots, “Very good ankle and foot support!!! I feel very secure in my footing on uneven terrain”. Other features that received high marks was the 2-Zone lacing system, the comfort of the toe box, the slip resistance and the boot’s overall comfort. One tester remarked, “Very comfortable and supportive boots. Makes work go by quickly without having to worry about sore feet”.
Investing in a pair of HAIX will ensure that wearers not only have a high-quality boot that will outlast their other boots, but will provide all day comfort and protection too. The HAIX Protector Prime and Airpower XR200 both feature ASTM safety toes, chainsaw protection, durable hiking soles, and are EH rated.

Boot rating
I have the haix protector prime orange boots. I agree with the majority of your article. They have very good ankle and foot support. Water proof goretex works great. Also like the dual zone laces. The only reason this boot is not a 10 is because my tread has worn smooth after 1 year. I have no traction anymore.
